H.E. Dr. Thelma Phillip-Browne Honored as Influential Woman of 2020

Deemed as the “2020 Lady CEO on the Move,” Her Excellency, Dr. Thelma Phillip-Browne, was recognized as one of the 25 Influential Women of 2020 by the International Women’s Media Forum, Silke Endress, during their High-level Success by Design Showcase.

Other honorees included several global female leaders such as H.E. Epsy Campbell-Barr, Vice President of the Republic of Costa Rica, H.E. Ameenah Gurib-Fakim, Former President of the Republic of Mauritius, Meghan Markel, Duchess of Sussex and Global Humanitarian, and Elvira Mendez, Counsellor for the Inter-American Development Bank.

The Showcase highlighted Her Excellency’s Letter of Credence to the 44th President of the United States of America, Barack Hussein Obama, at the Credential Ceremony, her vehemence within bilateral relations, and her prolific medical career as a Dermatologist.

In her address, Ambassador Phillip-Browne credits her early foundation in medicine towards her older brother, who played a pivotal role in propelling her into the field and was an astute advocate that one’s gender should not limit them. She also made mention of current world issues such as the COVID-19 pandemic, environmental change, universal health care, and sustainable agriculture.

She concluded her message with an allegory by encouraging others to, “find their niche” and to be the best version of themselves while the grass is still green so that they may continue to flourish and bloom.
